Sundia is one of the largest watermelon brands in the world. Sundia wanted to reach a still wider market to deliver its quality products. To begin with, Sundiacorp.com did not qualify greatly from an SEO perspectizve. The site had multiple domains with the same content while its home page was completely image-based. Besides, the site had only its home page indexed in Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
Methodology Followed:
At first, we focused our attention to restructure the site. We changed its design and inserted texts along with the images. Several new informative pages with optimized content were added. Initially, we targeted those keywords that offered less competition but gradually we moved our efforts to major keywords like “watermelon juice”, “watermelons”, “cantaloupe”, and “honeydew”. We paid exclusive attention to the link exchange campaign and made constant efforts to get maximum quality inbound links. The site was also submitted to major directories and informative articles written for its promotion.
Results:
It took a little more than four weeks for this site to show results. Initially, Google was slow to respond but MSN was comparatively fast to pick up. By the end of the fifth month, we were successful in getting listed on the first page of MSN for all the major keywords.
Soon we received a huge boost when YAHOO too displayed the site on its first page for all the major keywords. To top it all, our efforts really paid off well when Sundiacorp.com was listed in the YAHOO Directory.
Our non-stop commitment has now made the site rank well in the three major search engines. Our effort was well rewarded when Sundiacorp.com was referred to by the biggest multilingual free-content encyclopedia on the Internet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watermelon).
