Sundia Corporation : The largest watermelon brand in the world and the fastest growing produce brand in North America.

Challenge
Sundia wanted to develop a website that accurately reflected its offering and ensure the website achieved high ranks on Search Engines.

Solution
Sundia Corp has partnered with digitalavenues for several years now to be its creative agency. The areas of service that we have been providing till date includes Branding, Web site design, Flash Animation, Power Point Presentations, Press Releases/Advertisements and Internet Marketing.

This year the client wanted to move away from the predominant watermelon branding on its previous websites and depict its new image of a global organic fruit and vegetable supplier and distributor. Sundia Fruit was proposed as the new brand name to be launched.

  • First Step – Design
    The first step was for the creative team to design a website that did not focus on just one fruit as the previous websites had done. Sundia Fruit was positioned as a substitute for nature itself. Sundia's abundance of ready-to-eat, healthy, delicious fruit and vegetables was compared with nature's bounty. The website was embellished with images of nature and the color palette employed was both fresh and inviting. The web site was developed keeping all prevalent web design standards in mind and prepared for the next step which was internet marketing.
  • Second Step - SEO and marketing
    For the SEO and marketing team it was a challenging task as the client wanted the rebranded site launched under a new domain name www.sundiafruit.com. The older domain www.sundiacorp.com ranked at the top for most of the Watermelon related keywords and brought in a substantial amounts of traffic. For the search engines, www.sundiacorp.com had a lot more credibility in terms of age and link popularity than www.sundiafruit.com.  To solve this issue, a permanent redirection was setup from the older domain to the newer one. Doing this transferred all the credibility from the older domain to the newer one. Once this was established, Google reacted to it in a couple of weeks and updated all the sundiacorp.com pages to sundiafruit.com.

  • Final Challenge
    The final challenge was to achieve a high search engine ranking for an entirely new set of keywords. First, a detailed keyword analysis was done based on our own algorithm that takes into account vital factors like keyword competitiveness, market and more importantly, keyword ROI. Next, all the important pages were optimized with new Meta tags along with a decent balance of keyword density wherever possible. Since the new website is primarily image based, the team concentrated more on off-page optimization factors like link building, getting links from a variety of sources to the important pages of the site

Result
The results started showing up in a couple of months. By the end of August, www.sundiafruit.com ranked 4th in Google for the keyword cut fruits. The positions for other important keywords are also currently showing positive results.
